I think I have the ID correct, but would need verification. The leaves associated with the flower are the toothed lance shaped.

Description
Both species of Monotropa were quite common on a recent trip to Grayson Highlands SP. Thanks to iNaturalist, I now recognize the two.

Description
Unclear which subspecies this is. dunni? No above ground stream nearby, she was out walking around amongst the leaf litter in the rain.

Description
Larva out on forest floor in heavy rain. Interestingly no above ground stream was nearby.

Description
On June 8, 2008, the rhododendron blooms at Mount Rogers National Recreation Area were just about to peak. The hillsides were dusted with pink and a lot of dark pink buds were prevalent. A number of the bushes just started to open.
