Blue wings, head, back,and tail, with grey/white breast and underneath. Black legs and beak.
Common backyard feeder bird. Red head, breast,and back on male. Females are plain varying light to moderate grey/tan.
MOST FREQUENTLY OBSERVE THESE ANIMALS ON THE JETTY ROAD WETLANDS AREA OR IN THE WATER. THIS YOUNG MALE WAS RECENTLY DEAD. REPORTED HIM TO THE SOUTHERN SEA OTTER PROJECT THAT CAME AND PICKED HIM UP. AUTOPSIES ARE DONE ON ALL SEA OTTERS THAT THEY FIND. THERE WAS A LARGER DEAD SEA OTTER SOUTH OF THIS ONE ON THE BEACH.
