Tons of gulls that refused to get off the runway! Planes were landing and taking off pretty constantly, and the airport even set a guy in a truck to drive down the runway and try and chase them off, to no avail. They'd fly off a little ways and come right back.

Dried smashed small bird. Most likely Nuttall's, which are very common around here.

Found a wooden fence along the creek. ID provided by Chris Mallory from images I posted to Bug Guide. This is an introduced beetle species used as a biocontrol agent.
