Large snake track exhibiting rectilinear locomotion in soft fine grain soil on levee trail near wetland ponds of the south SF Bay.
This fellow froze in the lower part of the tree for two whole minutes when the Sharp-shinned Hawks zipped through.
This grasshopper won a surprise first round (at the cost of a leg) but the match went the usual way in the end.
About 10 feet off the ground in a tree (usually they seem to be in fennel, a few feet off the ground).
Life bird...but not countable. Still, cool to see one. Striking bird!
Known vagrant rarity. County bird for me!
