This family in the middle of the mountains own lamas in their front yard. We were driving by and saw them. Location. Skyline ranch
This one looks like it may actually be a norther alligator lizard
On a north facing slope under Monterey pine tree, sandy soils
Pannaria? Physcia? Not making much progress on this one. Abundant on shrub stems, so probably Baccharis, Eriophyllum, Ceanothus, etc.
Doesn't key quite right in Brodo. Maybe P. stictica based on the pic in Brodo.
Probably Nephroma helveticum, but given Tom's comments from my last observation of this genus, I'll be conservative until I can revisit San Bruno and take a better series of pics.
I'd heard there were cool lichens up on San Bruno, so I was pleasantly unsurprised to find a new-to-me lichen up there. This definitely doesn't have the hairy lobe tips of L. hallii, so I feel pretty good about the ID. There is one record of this species from Marin, but it seems like it might be unusual around the Bay.
