I saw several of these spiders that appear to thrive on Sierra Nevada snowfields.

At least 20 seen, from fingerlings to adults in full breeding colors
Seen on the northern edge of Silver Lake. Time of day: dusk.
Rather interesting looking plant growing in the rocks on the way up to Cecile. No flowers, sadly.
Very close match to the description in Brodo, though he does mention there are lookalikes in the western mountains. If you think I should back this up to genus, please holler.
Definitely has the salt-like deposits described in Brodo.
They are everywhere.
