Tried to go see some of those amazing Nudibranchs "nudibranchmom" posted yesterday from my county. Couldn't get beyond the locked gates...
On the top of the main gate fence post into the Community Garden.
Large patch of it mixed with Manzanita at the northwest corner of the new hospital
This was a big baseball-sized mass of what appeared to be eggs in hardened tubes the diameter of spaghetti. It did not feel soft - felt rough. Submerged just below the waterline. Really no clue what this is, could be fish or ?
About 1" across. Apparently it has lived so long on this submerged pipe that it adapted its shell to create the tightest fit! A flat limpet would have been eaten!
Two together (one about 3/4" long, other about 1/2" long), near two appropriately sized peach-colored egg spirals.
