This was taken outside of my window this morning. It is the bird that starts out the recording and you can hear the song really clearly around 22 seconds. I've been hearing it since yesterday but it's a new song to the usual "soundscape" outside of my window
About 1 inch in length. Would love to know what species it is. Haven't seen this one before.
var. rubra 'Rosy Red'
Probably Polycentropus, since that is only California genus. Found under cobble in riffle.
Picked off rock, sticky, disorganized home nearby, I think it is hydropsychidae. Very fast, not easy to photograph.
Stonefly, possibly perlidae, photos of dorsal side, and ventral with thoracic gills. Found under cobble in riffle.
Heptageniidae, found under cobble in a nice riffle
What is this bird? Thanks all for the id
Very excited to see one of these in person
Beginning to wither away. Smelled like a mushroom (?)
There were three all like this one, I attached a photo of its habitat because I wasn't sure how to describe it
Found at the start of the trail towards the redwood grove just past McKeon Pavilion.
Found on woody hillside
