Likely male, was quite small. Outside of my place on the power line over the intersection.
Feeding along the shore. Yesterday they had some white egret camp followers working the inner shore, but tide was out further.
Small. Less than a foot across. Saw it while it was getting out of the way of some white pelicans.
KONO BID (Biological Improvement District)
A very snipe-ish bird exploded from some brush as I passed it and flew away quickly. No time for picture, alas, but it looked and sounded just like a snipe. Very cool!

At least 3 jakes were walking on the downhill side of Centennial Dr.
8:30 am. Three jakes moving across the road, downhill toward the southwest. They seemed to own the place and pecked at various items on the roadside.
Painted Redstart in poplars in residential yard in Berkeley
All day there has been a great horned owl in the oak tree in my backyard. A group of crows and a single sharp-shinned hawk have surrounded it and been screeching at it non-stop. The owl is still there after five hours. The number of crows has increased.
