Height of plant is about 8 inches.

If you magnify photo, you can see hairs on the axis of the stem and portions of the petals.

I'm leaning toward Delphinium hesperium, but could certainly use an expert's opinion.

Black widow (you can't see them in this picture but she has two dots on her abdomen) being kept at the company I work for, Tree Frog Treks. It was found in someone's home in San Mateo County, I believe.

I've fed her a few times over the past week and she swelled up to a huge size. This morning her egg case appeared and she was back to normal size. Awesome animal.
