Mt Tam, Matt Davis Trail
Roadkill. Survived migrating to central Mexico and back, possibly multiple times, then got taken out by a car.
2 were wading up and down in the shallow water next to the pathway. Hard to see from the photos, but both birds had a white dot above the eye.
I keep seeing these bugs under rocks in saltmarshes when looking for woodlice - they have weird hairy tufts coming out of their butts, but otherwise look like normal hemiptera nymphs
these tiny moths were everywhere
reliably on the boulders
