An informal follow up on a Citizen Science survey of Duxbury Reef, following a report that there is a decline in starfish due to a wasting disease.
Found on plate glass inside house. Underside pale and nondescript.
1 mature tree, about 5m high, fruiting, mostly leafless, on roadside; fruit appeared not quite ripe; majority of fruit hung from branches that had already shed their leaves; the tree is located between Sir Francis Drake Blvd and Castro St, near where Arroyo Rd crosses SFD, c. 20 metres inland from the Castro Pools of San Geronimo Creek
Spiny lobster molt. One of three found.
I could barely see this and I didn't have my macro lens with me, but I am fairly certain this is a slime mold - just don't know which.
Also called Cat-faced Spider
I don't know what species of moth she had wrapped up for a late lunch!
Repeatedly alighting on English Ivy inflorescences.
mixed with large flock of townsends, yellow, and yellow-rumped warblers
perhaps willow potato gall?
