I think this ID is right, but am not finding examples with serrated leaves like this one, so not sure. Thanks for any help. :)
These three were the second group we observed from Estero Trail this day.
Glad I "stalked" this one around in the meadow a while to get it's photo. Never saw wings open, but each time it moved/landed it tilted to one side to show off it's beautiful "eyes". Very fun first sighting. Only saw this one.
4 individuals - 3 appeared to be very pregnant cows.
It was in the middle of the trail & in bad shape (but still alive) from predation. Was gone when we came back through, a couple hours later.
Pair (pictured) in/on dead tree. Maybe nesting/feeding in that hole, but didn't hear any chick sounds.
I think? Next to woodland creek.
Many singing this day, but this was the only one I could get a photo of. So elusive, but their song is my fave. :)
