Saw multiple young ones/around 4cm, snout to vent, sunning on paths & rocks today.
Two caterpillars observed/pictured on Sweet Fennel/Foeniculum vulgare.

On Fountain Grove in Santa Rosa.
An area planted with 'native' low water use vegetation after development. Season for blooms mostly over, so what's visible are a few flowers and some brown seeds.
How is this distinguished from the California buckwheat?
