Feeding on trail under trees.
Feeding on Black berries.
Common tree along City streets. The leafs are about 2" long.
Is this some kind of ant?
I was on a hiking path and there was a medium sized tree with these buds on its branches, a few were opening and leaves were unfurling.
There were several of these in the house when the light was left on and the door open.
The last of our brood; laid on our showy milkweed 4/6.
Spent her first full day in and out of the yard; returning repeated to these plants.
Pink and green flowers.
From the group laid 3/21. The 5 survivors I took from the garden to the safety of my terrarium have now all emerged save one, which I suspect--as the crysalid is now transparent-- will appear in the next 24 hrs.
Just emerged this afternoon. This is a non-native moth.
In rural yard. Wingspan over one inch
A doe California mule deer and her two fauns grazing in a field.
Two large swans swimming in Spring Lake. They look like mute swans but I am not certain.
Many noisy chicks in nests today in Eucalyptus. (Included photo of one of the 2 main rookery trees here.)
Lots of nesting activity among the Great Egrets today. Especially atop a Coast Redwood on the south side of 9th street.
