Seen at Annadel Spring Lake parking area.
Saw one of these last year, ID'd by bugguide: http://bugguide.net/node/view/1015359
On Fountain Grove in Santa Rosa.
An area planted with 'native' low water use vegetation after development. Season for blooms mostly over, so what's visible are a few flowers and some brown seeds.
How is this distinguished from the California buckwheat?
Along Fountain Grove
Which fern is that? Not bracken.
Along Brush Creek.
This may be the wrong species, the gall was on the upper side of the leaf not the bottom. It just the best guess I have.
