Cherry Tree on Mount Vernon property
In the gardens at Mount Vernon.
Dormant in the fall season, is drought resistant.
We were lucky enough to hit the cherry blossom festival in Washington, D.C. during their peak bloom! The tidal basin was ablaze with pink blossoms.
Heard "caw"-ing as opposed to "eh uh" as a Fish Crow would emit.
Large green wing tags indicate this bird was tagged on Lake Huron during June/July 2011 per the website below:
Courtship display of male to female
Foraging in the mud of the marsh, which explains the muddy face!
