This Grey Fox was observed wandering up from the chaparral forest into our back yard. At first, it was just sitting, observing the dogs in the neighborhood. When it turned around and saw me, it decided to come closer and say, "Hello..."
Three dogs in a car.
Three horses in a field
Observed on a Saturday towards the end of August - could be the next week…
Large numbers of Knobcone Pine observed in dense, mono dominant stands along Bottle Rock Road just South of Kelseyville.
Nice specimens of McNab cypress observed in a low, gentle chaparral ridge just E of Bottle Rock Road on Sulphur Creek Road in Southern Lake County, CA.
The shrubby posture/size, bluish-gray foliage, and easily visible white resin spots cinched the ID.
Saw a thistle by the fig tree. Flowers have yet to bloom. I saw one or two other plants also nearby. This one was about three feet from the fig tree. It was in the grass.
A small white flower about two inches in diameter. Close to the ground. A few others were a few feet away.
