I've read this orange pond slime might be iron-loving bacteria.
Flying above. Was identified by light coloring and black spotted belly band.
It hovered several times! I have a picture not taken by me if needed for identification.
This was recorded from inside by a closed window. The song is very loud and very clear.

They were everywhere in the grass and leaf litter. They were a range of sizes but mostly very small. I saw the same spiders in abundance at the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge, which is close. I think I haven't seen any other spiders besides this one, so it may be the dominant species in this area (at least on the ground in the grass).
I think it may be Candelaria concolor. It is a crustose lichen.
Found in outdoor compost.
