Poor individual didn't make it across the road...
I'm guessing Cooper's....this parking lot abuts a road with traffic measured in the 10's of thousands daily.
Turning onto this road with my window down I heard a starling's distress call. It took off and then I saw the source of its distress following, then capturing it.
Poor quality phone pic for a NatGeo moment of a hawk sitting in a bowling alley parking lot with a starling in its talons.
Paw prints in snow, maybe coyote, in an industrial area.
This is an awful pic from a phone. The small speck is an individual hovering over an area next to a four lane road.
In two parts now, this unfortunate creature had amazingly soft fur. The tail looks furless now, but a lot of traffic went over that half.....
Not your everyday roadkill....
right next to an apt. bldg.
Ducks, I presume.
Possibly N. dolobrata.
Probably Ectemnius maculosus
