Menzie's Wallflower is a federally listed endangered species endemic to California and known only from small patches of coastal dunes in Monterey, Mendocino, and Humboldt Counties.

This marine fly lays its eggs and pupates deep in the algae and in old barnacles.
Blueband Hermit crabs are found from British Columbia to Baja California and can be told from the very similar Hairy Hermit Crab (Pagurus hirsutiusculus) by their reddish antennae. This one is wearing the shell of a Black Turban Snail (Tegula funebralis)
This beautiful, fully extended worm was found in a tidepool fairly far out during on the reef during a very productive low-tide photoshoot.
This large (approx 8" long) tongue-like animal is a large chiton whose mantel completely covers its valves.
Found in the tidepools during a low tide.
The one on the left with long spines. Pretty sure this is Mesocentrotus franciscanus now.
