Observation made by Paul R. 5/11/2015 Catbird Johnson/Stemmler Building Biomedical Library 2nd of 5 windows from left to right facing north side of building at 36th Street.
The bird was observed first on the sill outside Van Pelt Library and appeared stunned and still. I returned to the site about 15 minutes later and the bird had moved to a branch of a tree and was still acting stunned. Barbara N. was able to make a positive ID of a female Black-throated Blue Warler. Barbara noted that the bird was normally a secretive bird and we were able to get very close to make an observation without startling, indicating it was stunned, perhaps from a window collision. Its original proximity to the window suggests this may be true.
