Stopping through on migration. First time I've ever seen these around where I live though.
I've only ever made one other Owl Observation in the wild and it was also a Great Horned Owl. This one unfortunately was deceased along the road near my house. I actually stopped to see if it was the Red-Tail hawk that I would see almost daily at this location sitting on the power lines. I was surprised to see it was an Owl as I haven't seen one in this area as much as I've been looking. Its nice to know they're out there but too bad this one didn't make it. This is a busy back road that keeps getting busier and unfortunately the wildlife takes a big hit for it. I've seen several foxes and deer dead along this road. I've also rescued a large Snapper Turtle from crossing.
This is a second-hand observation from my wife while she was at work. I had too look up what it was but wanted to share this interesting observation.
This Kestrel was in Hover-Mode when I took this photo. I'm trying real hard to get a closer photo of this bird. I've seen it numerous time in what I think is a span of about a 5-10 mile radius in this particular area. I see it perched on the wires along the road looking for prey. As soon as I get out and start walking it usually takes off though.
Was on my house this morning singing its song. I couldn't resist getting a shot.
Trees that were planted outside our apartments last year. I just wanted to know what they were, if anybody could help me with that. Also, how cool is it that I am able to pinpoint the exact tree on google maps :)
One of many Bluebirds that I saw here. I was excited to be able to capture a feeding behavior of any type. In this photo it's enjoying a rather large grub. How does it even find these things this time of year?
This is a new individual Kingfisher I've identified since observing some at William Kain Park.
Different individual from the last Kestrel that I identified in the York Area. This one can be seen here almost every day as of late. Doesn't like it when I get out of the car to take its picture though.
I'm not 100% that these are Dark-Eyed Juncos so please correct me if I'm wrong. They were visiting my bird feeder.
Two Bluebirds were hanging out around my apartment. Female and a Male I presume.
There was about 8 of these Domestic Guineafowl that I had to stop from crossing a busy road. Made for some great photos!
Saw this Red-Tailed Hawk while I was driving on this rainy day. I stopped and got a couple shots with my 300mm lens before it saw me getting nearer and it flew away. I'm pretty sure this is the same one I've seen here now about 3 times this year so far. Perhaps the same one that frequented here last year as well.
Night before Hurricane Irene this guy was flying in the wind and landed on me.
Second time I've seen this juvenile Black Vulture atop this steeple. The last time I couldn't get shots as good as this. And it didn't fly away this time.
A mother Goldfinch had made her nest in the tree behind my house. I'm hoping to get a better photo of her but she refuses to leave her nest.

A type of fly that appears to have a wound. My cat probably did that. Unless its just natural for it to look like that.
This is a Green Bottle Fly that fell for the "Hey, you want a Zagnut?" trick. I was so mad I wasn't able to get the camera in focus in time to catch the action. Got some other great shots though. Found matching ID here http://bugguide.net/node/view/27097
This seems to be the thing to do for Japanese Beetles this time of year. No shame to their game.
Very small cricket, only about 1cm or less in body length (excluding stretched hind-legs and antennae). Was on a tree leaf, looked as if he was eating on it. He eventually walked to the underside of the leaf after I bothered him for some photos. I would like to know the species if anyone knows it.
