Need some help with this one. It was very tiny and I could recognize the sound if I heard it. Was one long very high pitched Trrrillllllll.
I am just now posting this sighting from a year and a half ago because until someone just pointed out that it was a Map Turtle, I had just assumed it was a Painted Turtle. This would make my first and so far only observation of a wild Map Turtle so I'm very happy someone noticed this error I made on Flickr. This observation was made during the crest level of a flooded Susquehanna River.
I had some cool shots of him catching minnows but I forgot to adjust the settings and they were blurry :(
There were a pair of these hawks hanging out together near this baseball field. I almost immediately thought I was seeing my very first Red Shouldered Hawks. I can't be 100% certain though. Can someone help me identify these? I know the photos aren't great but when I got any closer they flew away.
Not sure if someone would be able to identify this mushroom by this photo. It was interesting because it was growing deep inside a rock crevice where it was hard to get a photo of it.
Saw this as it was attempting to kill a North American Millipede. Not sure what it is though.
Was curious as this looks like a moth at first but then I had my doubts if it was a moth at all.
