My neighbor told me there was a copperhead in her basement. She knew it was a copperhead because it looked just like the copperhead that her father had once shot out of a tree. I didn't want to criticize the memory of her brave father by telling her that copperheads don't climb, so I brought my toddler into her basement to see what was there, and we found this.
About an inch across, this guy was on a branch that fell off an ash tree.
not 100% sure about ID.
Probably P. hypotropum, which is known from Frick Park.
