These small, unusual yellow flowers were in a field of mowed short grass, mixed with clover.
At rest, the folded wings caused the brown markings to look like an old dead tree on the moth's back. :)

The Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium has a ground feeder along with their other bird feeders, and these turkey hens are very acclimated to human presence.

This worse-for-wear sulpher was probably elderly.
A fuzzy hoverfly, around the size of a greenbottle. Appears identical to Bombylius minor, though I understand this family is very poorly described, and that beefly shouldn't be in the US.

Some people think toads are ugly. This is an absolutely gorgeous toad. He's cute, and beautiful.
