Found growing in soil near base of rock outcrop/ledges along stream in hemlock ravine.
1-pinnate pinnatifid or 2-pinnate.
Few scales at base.
Approximately 15 pair of pinnae.
Stipe shorter than blade, grooved, red at base, with 5 vascular bundels.
taken up residence in squirrel box intended for flying squirrels, which figures since flying squirrels used purple martin box!
My cousin found this is her garage. She said it was "huge and its abdomen was glowing...phosphorescent." Any help, even down to just family or genus, is appreciated.
