bat on the ground is a juvenile that fell out of the roof and crawled under a locked door. I assume it's the same species as the adult in the other picture
fledgling. Both parents were nearby and unhappy with my presence.

The Roosevelt Elk is the largest of the four N.A. elk subspecies. Endemic to the Pacific Northwest, at one time they were hunted down to just a few hundred individuals, but conservation efforts have brought them back in large numbers and they are being reintroduced to portions of their historic range.
Both of these large snails were found within a few feet of one another along the coastal trail at Praire Creek redwoods State Park. They were in tall coastal grasses at the edge of a coastal conifer woodland.
