Saw this cool/dead grass while snowshoeing during the "blizzard"
Yesterday while snowshoeing with my brother in the Farmington Memorial Forest we stumbled upon these animal tracks and scat. One of the pieces of scat was inside of the track. Looked like a paw print, I guessed bobcat but we will see if anyone else can do a better job Identifying it.
The photo was taken with my flip phone so the resolution is not great.
Seen in lactose field. Make was seen with two females. Make would venture out into field more than two females which would stay by edge of field.
Blackish body with orange/yellow patches on wings and body.
Song sparrow hit by a car. Died of shock a few minutes later.
Forest floor covered with thousands of small flowers near Farmington River.
Cocoons of parasitoid Braconid wasp Cotesia congregata on a late instar Tobacco Hornworm caterpillar (Manduca sexta) on a tomato plant
Fly moving around from one large leaf to another on edge of early successional forest. Fairly wary of me.
