An adult bird in a large Zonotrichia flock, seen only by myself and the two other birders I was with at the time of its discovery despite an entire group of birders being present for the annual Del Norte Christmas Bird Count. A very large sparrow with prominent white on the belly (visible when the bird was facing towards us) and black on the face.
Around 7 or 8 seen associating with Black Oystercatchers, Black Turnstones and Surfbirds on a large rock.
At least two adults in winter plumage seen flying near the B St. pier.
A first winter juvenile seen with its head tucked in as part of the gull roost at Front St. park.
A male, seen swimming away from the large raft of scoters at Anchor Way.
A light-morph juvenile was seen flying past our vehicle as were traveling along Moseley Lane looking for the long-staying Crested Caracara (no such luck).
