observed (2) two member of this species in Hopkinton State Park/Ashland Massachusetts. 9:20 AM EST.
thousands of peepers crossing over the crown of large earthen dam in Hopkinton State Park. there were in tall grass (10 inches) moving mostly down the dam's grassy face moving east into the morning sun.
watch brown bat flying around in daylight. along lake @ Hopkinton State Park - Massachusetts. seemed very healthy. daylight w/bright sunlight and stiff breeze. very acrobatic. looked like it was having fun gathering an early meal of bugs.

Pileated Woodpecker - sighted in Hopkinton State Park, Ashland, Massachusetts. singular male seen just inside tree line of mixed Oak & Pines. first sighting for the season.
bald eagle - soaring @ about 5000 feet. flying over Hopkinton state park. mature - white head, white tail, black wings & body. themaling. observed via binocculars.

Sharpshin Hawk agressively engaging a group of five crows. Hawk initiated confrontation by "charging" crows (one @ a time) and chasing each crow in turn. 15 minutes of engagement observed. Sighting Sunday morning 10:10am, January 6, 2013
Red Fox seen passing through back yard. Along boundary of Hopkinton State Park. Very healthy looking and energetic.
