Common Grackle mating display
Possibly a beetle of some kind or a weevil. I really have no idea. It had a flat shiny bluish abdomen. At first we thought it was a wasp but the head shape is wrong & it has not wings.
I'm not totally sure about the family but it seems like the right shape from looking at bugguide.net.
2 inches long & hanging out on the bathroom curtains
flew off before I could get a picture. first one seen at the feeder this year.
