Arisaema triphyllum (Jack in the pulpit) It is a large, cylindrical, hooded flower, green in color with brown stripes. Distinctive Jack-in-the-pulpit formation grows beneath large leaves and in shade.
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker seeking insects on the trees.
Sighting: I saw this sparrow confirmed by another birder to be Red Fox sparrow ground feeding under an apple tree. I didn't hear it's song but understand it has a terrific voice deep rich whistle.
