Question of RSHAxRTHA hybrid.
feeding in Gray Birch
Red-tailed Hawk, 12/14/14 Severance Rd., Colchester, VT
small-- stocky---pale yellow flanks, white iris, whitish throat.
Thanks to Larry Clarfeld for originally finding this bird and posting its whereabouts
One large stem that was likely planted with a few smaller stems around it (within 100') that seem to have naturalized. No evidence of seed production.
Observed by Andrea Suozzo but sent to me since she doesn't have an account. Sickly and apparently dying.
There were five foraging beneath the tree.
There are two in the picture. Low quality, but I've identified Northern Flickers many times.
