Description

The closest ID I came up with is Self heal (Prunella vulgaris), but even that doesn't look right.

It looks like it's a ground-hugging plant.

Description

I found this individual under a flower umbel, near a stream, about 45 minutes before sunset.

It's not the best possible picture, since it wasn't actually the subject of the photo, but I was wondering if anyone could narrow the identification down to the species.

Description

Cut down a rotten ash tree. It was so rotten the insides had turned to soil. In the soil I found around 10 of these grubs. Any clue as to what type of grub?

But first, an adorable mammalian interlude. This little lady was so young she didn't know that humans are scary and just kept hopping over a wee bit to eat different maple seedlings.
