Found on dead Douglas fir. The tree was a recently dead old growth tree, killed by laminated root rot possibly. Near two waterfalls.
Under pine tree, growing in soil. Pine needles. Froze overnight but ground under pine tree was not frozen.
Found in a riparian zone, on an incline. The soil was sandy but covered in miss and pine needles. Mixed woods but primarily conifers.
In Talus field, couldn't get picture.
These bunches of moss were found on a Fir or Cedar tree. They reminded me of what an underwater plant or anemone might look like.
This Alaska Cedar was found by the bubbling gases coming from the swamp area. The cedar branches are shaded orange. This tree can survive at higher elevations.
