A few flowering plants in the drier parts of Longmire Meadow, growing with sedges and grasses.
This is a shrub-like tree that dwells in the Subalpine Fir zone. Needles oriented on branches like bursting stars.
Found growing in an old growth forest near the base of Mt. Rainier. Each blade of a single frond has very slightly serrated edges.
Pink Heather is a shrub which grows close to the ground and uses most of the energy it collects from the sun to build a strong root system so when the winter comes and the plant freezes topside, the roots are still intact.
Spire like body to prevent snow-build on its branches. Needles are soft to the touch and have white/yellow spores on the underside. Bark is smooth and grey with occasional blisters.
This is an immature cedar but one that will grow up to about 60 meters tall. Branches tend to droop a bit With scale like leaflets. Closely pressed together to form their overlapping arrangements in opposite pairs. Grows in shady forests
Branches huddled close to the tree trunk. Deeper root system in order to bare high wind speeds.
Low lying shrub in a shaded damp area
Appears to be Western red cedar, but I heard that it was actually yellow cedar, not sure.
Not sure what kind of mushroom it is. Found near Mount Rainier
A black tailed deer, or mule deer.
A very small (2") mushroom that branches upward.
