Description

Found at the south end rocky spit of Constellation Marine Park 4/27/13 IMAG2453 Gaper clam. Either T. capax (fat gaper) or T. nuttallii (Pacific gaper), based on the leathery flaps at the apex with few transparent "frills".

Description

Found at the south end rocky spit of Constellation Marine Park 4/27/13 IMAG2445 Black-clawed crab. Hard to see, but has 3 'teeth' on the carapace edge; typical black-tipped, thick claws.

Description

Found at the south end rocky spit of Constellation Marine Park 4/27/13 IMAG2444 Shag-rug nudibranch. Feeds on sea anemones, and migrates the undischarged stinging cells to the cerata (shaggy parts) for protection. Has a characteristic gray shagginess, and the bald spot down the center.

Found at the south end rocky spit of Constellation Marine Park 4/27/13 IMAG2462 Flattop crab. Distinguished from flat porcelain crab (Petrolisthes cinctipes) by the blue (vs red) spot on the internal joint of the pincers.
