Definitely old so looks like the hairiness of the outside of the cup is diminished
Narrow glossy dark green leaves.
Tall (as my hand) and white with dark distress freckles along the stem and head. It was very cone shaped almost like a very slanted roof of a house. Was easily picked and slightly heavier that I thought.
Leaves alternate, deciduous, oval, margins finely round. Spade shaped with serrated edges.
Spiny needles all around. Squeezed needles and it hurts! NOT SO FRIENDLY!
Not my favorite fly in the world but I did manage to observe it flying from tree leaf to tree leaf for a little while.
A swarm of gnats was spotted while leaving. In the evening. In the high 50s. Did not and could not get close enough to observe more than the general swarm.
Black and yellow. Hello. Found near the last flowers on my way to my spot.
Darker skin color. Longer than my middle finger. Slimy and damp. In the damp leaves
Daddy long leg. Or pholcide or cellar spider. Long skinny legs with joints and a very small oval body (darker)
Cross spider. Light brown and kind of stripy. Small hairs on legs. Faced down in web.
Dark dark brown. Not longer than the first two knuckles of my pointer finger. Slid into the damp leaves before I could sketch and dug into the ground a little bit.
A white a beige type moth fluttering around early fall. About the size of my two thumbnails combined.
