My understanding is that the black bears in this area are Ursus americanus cinnamomum (though this one and many/most of them are not in fact cinnamon-colored).
Found crawling on the back of my neck while driving, just after wandering around the Jasper Fairmont resort.

It is quite easily visible if you enlarge the image to original size and look carefully.
