The spider has 4 small eyes at the front, 2 large eyes at the middle, and 2 medium sized eyes at the back of the cephalothorax. The legs are marked by a series of black rings. The spider has built a web covering a distance of about 15cm from the burrow. My assumption is that the web is used by the spider to detect prey movement near the burrow.I will find more info about the spider in terms of scientific name, its spatial distribution & food preference. Please if you have knowledge or know a reliable source of info, let me know.
Immature White-backed Vulture
Juvenile Martial Eagle. Poor photo quality as the bird was far away and the camera's lense is not strong
We were on a Nature Kenya Sunday bird-watch at Swara Plains south of Athi River on 21st June 2015. As we walked through the bush we spotted a bright yellow bat flying away, seemingly spooked by us. A few people among our group who are professional field guides quickly identified it as a Yellow-winged Bat. Unfortunately I couldn't get a photo of it as it quickly disappeared into some thick bush.
Found dead at dog pen.
