I believe I saw a flock of Bufflehead in this lake. I don't think they were hooded mergansers because the males did not have any brown in them. I also observed two males fighting each other. The sound these males produced matched the calls I heard on my Audubon Bird Guide app.
I saw at least three of these birds while I walked along the boardwalk in this park of the park. I also observed these birds coming pretty close to me which made me think these birds have been hand feed or at least feed by humans.
I saw this woodpecker in inland lake among some reeds. It looked like it was feeding on something that was on the plants. I could not tell if it was pecking into the reeds or just eating what was on the plant.
