Three flight shots of this same bird also posted. Ever wonder how close up images are taken of a hawk like this? I am posting a shot of a blind we erected at this Common Black-Hawk nest. The sitting platform in the blind was about 40 feet high and not for the faint of heart. We were a group of 4 serious bird photographers. The hawks successfully fledged their chick from this nest. I thought some people would be interested in how some of these shots are taken by serious photographers. The nest is in the large tree nearest the blind. Once the truck drives away and the photographers remain still in the blind, the hawks resume feeding their youngster. We could put two people in the blind at a time, and each pair of photographers typically stayed 4-5 hours. It takes patience.
