Yellow-backed Spiny Lizard (Sceloporus uniformis aka Sceloporus magister), Birchim Canyon, Inyo County, California - 9 September 2012. My sister found this strikingly marked lizard under a rocky overhang.
This guy was kind of gigantic, and was, in fact, chowing down when I caught him (he barfed up a grub).
