Found on Summit Trail . A common summer-autumn plant on Mt. Diablo .
Seen near a principal viewpoint on the Mead Ranch, growing on rocky soil. This diminutive plant is only about eight cm high.

This was the species that came up searching "Tarweed Mount Diablo"
Ubiquitous, but this was the first one I saw in flower. Actually smells pretty good.
not sure if this is a tarweed or not...
