Strepera versicolor (Latham, 1801), Grey Currawong, Aranda Bushland, ACT, 16 June 2013
Calling in the evening by the dining area; lovely long whistles:
Eating things out of the lawn.
Day 1 of the Overland Track
Currawong were to be a companion for the next six days.
Got some very good advice, keep food secure, deep in the main compartment of pack. These are quite clever birds, and have been known to open zippers on a pack.
These birds are endemic to Tasmania.
