I am a certified California Naturalist and I volunteer at the UCSC Arboretum by caring for the Cycads. I especially enjoy birds (corvids, hummingbirds), bats, cycads, staghorn ferns, orchids and sea thingies (echinoderms, cetaceans, sea turtles). I also love drawing birds. I live across the road from the Pacific Ocean and I love exploring there. The redwood forest is another habitat that I frequent. I am also strongly drawn to the Hawaiian Islands and have spent much time on the island of Hawaii where I was fortunate to see the almost extinct Hawaiian Crow.
