I’m interested in all things living – from trees and shrubs to birds and fish – but my specialty is spineless animals of the sea. With a focus on education and outreach, I’ve taught children’s classes in natural history and university courses in invertebrate zoology, and served as a consultant on field guides and biology textbooks. I wrote the species profiles for a book on marine invertebrates: Spineless, by photographer Susan Middleton. I’m currently Coordinator for Educational and Outreach Programs at University of Washington's Friday Harbor Labs, in Friday Harbor, WA.
