I've always been curious about the world around me and loved finding and bringing home critters and other cool things like fossils, interesting rocks and old raccoon skulls. I loved school projects that had us finding and collecting leaves or bugs.

I had illustrated books to help me ID my finds before I knew they were called field guides. I didn't realize I could make a living at these things I loved. So, I became a graphic designer and started to share my hobby with my kids. Now I work for a park district and combine several things I love like design, photography and nature. Funny how things work out.
