Description

Location: Specimen was found beside a grassy cross country ski trail in Fort Kent, Maine.

Substrate: Soil had a very dark colored top layer that was full of organic matter. Under that thin layer is a lightly colored moist soil.

Habitat: Specimen was growing in a small patch. All the stems originated from the same spot in the soil which was about six inches in diameter. The stems branch out from this one spot. It was growing in with raspberry and goldenrod with fallen brush behind. There were small ash trees overhanging the plants.
